KINDNESS: THE REAL SHEKELS

Image
When we say, “That person is kind,” what do we really mean? We’re not just talking about someone who donates to charity, or helps the elderly cross the road. Often, we say it when someone speaks to us in a way that makes us feel safe, seen, and respected. Because kindness more than anything, is a language. Kindness Isn’t Just Action. It’s How You Speak. We often underestimate how powerful everyday conversations are. The way someone talks to you  their tone, their pauses, their choice of words can feel like: A hug,  A shove,  Or a slap you never saw coming.  That’s why you might meet someone for just 5 minutes and walk away thinking, “Wow, they were so kind.” It wasn’t just their face or body language. It was their voice  how they made you feel with it.  “ Language Has Its Own Temperature …” In a Korean drama I once watched, there was a line I’ll never forget:  “ Language has its own temperature. The speaker may find it refreshing, but the listen...

WHY YOUR FOUNDATION OF EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT?

Image
“ Education is the foundation that teaches us to tell right from wrong .” It’s not just a system. It’s the seed of every decision we make as we grow. Solomon Ortiz once said, “ Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students.” But the story doesn’t start in the classroom. It begins at home  with parents. Long before a child meets their first school teacher, they’re already learning by observing their parents. A parent’s character, communication, values, emotional intelligence, and the way they handle life’s ups and downs all of this silently shapes the child’s mind. Children absorb everything. Their worldview is built in the living room, not the lecture hall. Think of Mowgli from The Jungle Book. Raised in the wild, among animals, he adapted to the jungle not by choice, but by influence. That’s how powerful environment is.  Once children step into school, teachers become the second sculptors of their personality. The...

PARADOXES THAT IS IN EXISTENCE BUT NOT SO APPARENT

Image
Pleasure in Pain, Pain in Pleasure: Are We Living in a Paradox? ‘Pleasure’ and ‘pain’  two simple words, yet both deeply intertwined in the human experience. Have you ever been in pain, but somehow felt a strange sense of comfort within it? Or found yourself in a moment of joy, while something beneath the surface quietly ached? That’s what we call a paradox  a situation that appears self-contradictory, yet may still hold a hidden truth.  Understanding the Paradox By definition, a paradox is a statement or condition that seems impossible or contradictory, but in reality, reveals a deeper layer of truth. And in our day-to-day lives, we often find ourselves living through paradoxes without even realizing it. One of the clearest places these contradictions appear is in our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Emotional Paradoxes: The Pain of Joy, the Joy of Pain Sometimes we laugh while feeling hollow inside. Sometimes we cry, but feel relieved. Sometimes we achieve something w...

THE PRETTY, THE POPULAR, AND THE PICKED: THE TRUTH ABOUT FAVOURITISM

Image
The Reality of Favouritism: A Quiet Injustice Favouritism means giving someone unfair advantages, privileges, or opportunities over others  often because of personal attraction, preferences, or appearances. But how does it feel when you're not the one being favored? How does it feel when someone prioritizes others and gives them opportunities just because of good looks, physical attraction, or fairness of skin? Is that fair? Is it justified? And more importantly  what are we supposed to do when we see such partiality? We’ve all experienced it in some form: favouritism, partiality, and bias. And many of us have questioned: i f we speak up, does it change anything? Do biased people ever really change? Let’s look at the places where favouritism hides most often in the home, in school, and in society. Parental Favouritism: The Most Silent Wound What happens when parents love one child more openly than the other? When one child constantly receives praise for every small act, while ...

THE FILTERED TRUTH: HOW SOCIAL MEDIA IS SHAPING US AND CONFUSING US

Image
Social media has become the fastest, easiest way to connect with the world  or with a specific someone. You don’t need a phone number, an address, or even an introduction. Just a handle. One scroll through their profile, and you feel like you know them. Maybe even admire them. Trust them. Envy them. But the real question is do you? Can someone’s carefully curated profile, filtered selfies, or viral reels truly reveal who they are? A Stage Full of Masks Thanks to technology, we’ve gone beyond skin-deep filters. We now filter our personalities, values, and even struggles. It’s no longer just about looking good — it’s about appearing perfect. And let’s be clear: I’m not against social media. In fact, I believe it’s one of the most powerful inventions of our time. It gives us: A voice A stage to showcase talent A platform to market, connect, expose injustice, and even ask for help And of course, unlimited entertainment in the form of memes and madness But with great access comes...

Restlessness in Women

Image
We’ve all heard it — “She’s overreacting.” “She’s too emotional.” “She’s just plain annoying.” But have you ever paused to think is she really annoying, or is she simply not being heard? We live in a society where women are often judged harshly for expressing themselves. And while it's true that everyone  regardless of gender can be irritating at times, there's a cultural bias that makes women's emotions seem louder, more difficult, and less valid. When someone opens up about what’s bothering them, most people jump to advise or fix rather than simply listen. This is especially true for women  who often share to be heard, not judged or corrected. “When I vent, I don’t need solutions. I need support.” What often gets interpreted as "nagging" is sometimes a cry for understanding. Women also tend to carry emotional loads silently juggling expectations, relationships, and their own internal struggles. So yes, sometimes they snap. Not because they’re irrational  but bec...

Lockdown Blues

Image
What makes you feel blue is it the lockdown or something else entirely? What does it mean to feel caged not in someone else’s prison, but in your own home, your own mind? When will it end? And when it does, will everything really feel normal again? When Silence Felt Like Freedom When lockdown first began, I was at peace even happy. I didn’t have to go out. I didn’t have to deal with people or their judgments. I didn’t feel the need for friends, because I believed I had none. I felt safe in my shell. But even then, I felt sad  for those who couldn’t afford the same stillness. When Freedom Felt Like a Cage But half a year later, the silence became suffocating. I began to feel trapped not just physically, but emotionally. And that’s when I truly understood what it must feel like to be an animal in a cage. Locked, controlled, voiceless while someone else decides your movements. Humans are cruel, in the name of convenience, we trap birds, sell animals, chain beings all for profit or pl...
